Hey guys!
You may have read one of my previous posts about an exercise DVD I was doing, and I would like to take this post as an opportunity to update you.
I have failed! I was following Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, which is an intense workout designed to help you shred pounds in a matter of 30 days. I cannot fault the DVD, as the workouts are fab! However, the time I had to do it wasn't suitable.
I was unable to do the exercise routine up in my bedroom as it involved a lot of movement and jumping around, and my floor wasn't made for that! So I would have to wait until I could use the tv downstairs. It's a family tv in the living room, and obviously it was used by other family members in my house in the evenings. By the time it was free, it would be rather late in the evening, at which point I had settle down and was ready for bed. Hardly an ideal time to exercise!
So, instead I have joined my local gym! This is much more convenient and it's only a 5 minute walk from where I work.
I have been going every other day at least, so it's fair to say I am definitely getting my money's worth! And I am LOVING IT!
So that's my little update for you all! I aim to get nice and toned for the summer and just enjoy myself! I don't see going to the gym as a chore, it's something that I like doing.
Have you ever thought about joining a gym?
Xxx

30 Day Shred!
Hello Bloggers! I hope you are all well.
Sticking with a similar theme to my last post, I am going to again talk about exercising!
On youtube and instagram, I follow a woman called Kate (katethisiswhatido). She posted a picture on Instagram about the '30 day shred' (by Jillian Michael) work out, and I was intruged to find out what this was. Reading down on the comments I saw that you could watch the workout on Youtube!
I have been giving the 30 Day Shred a good trial via the Youtube video, and couldn't resist purchasing the hard copy on DVD! I was finding the workout do-able, but was feeling the benefits from it too. As silly as it may sound, I like to feel a little bit achy, so I know the exercising has actually done something! Ha.
I am on day 5, and am so far very impressed. The workout is designed to combine strength, cardio and abs workouts, all in one 20 minute session. There are 3 stages to the work out. Each stage should be followed for 10 days each in order. If you complete the workout effectively, and keep pushing yourself the whole way through, it claims to shred pounds, and give you more muscle tone. From the picture above, it boasts that you could 'lose up to 20 in 30 days!'.
Each 20 minute workout contains :
As I am only on day 5, I am yet to see any visual effects, but I know something is working due to the fact my muscles ache!
It has only occured to me today, that perhaps I should measure myself, so that by the time 30 days it up, I can see physically how much my body has changed.
My measurements on day 5 (before working out):

My measurements on day 5 (before working out):
Thigh at largest point - 20 1/2 inches
Calf at largest point - 14 inches
Waist at largest point - 28 inches
Hips at largest point - 32 inches
Chest at largest point (below bust) 31 inches
I am not doing this workout to lose weight, but to be more toned, and feel fitter in myself.
I shall keep you updated, and if you decide to do the 30 day shred, let me know how you get on!! Good luck.

Exercising because I'm poor!
Hello!!

Well its been far too long since I have last posted on here! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are having a good start to the new year!
I don't really have an excuse, and I am definitely going to make more time to post on here more regularly from now on.
As I am trying my hardest not to spend any money at all this month (except on bills!) because my car insurance is due for renewal at the beginning of Feb, I am trying to find other ways to keep myself occupied.
Walking my dog is not only free, but it is also very good for the both of us! Today I visited the local Country Park with my friend, instead of the usual shopping trip we would normally have. Walking is great exercise, and I always find myself feeling refreshed and motivated after. I believe it is good for the mind as well as the body. Joining the gym is something that I have wanted to do for a while, but as we all know, its not cheap. For now I am perfectly happy spending my free time with my number 1!
Mans best friend! I love my dog!
